The Anatomic Story
The feeling is Anatomic is the feeling of comfort that results from sleeping on a supportive Anatomic mattress topper.
The patented Anatomic technology was originally designed for use in hospitals and critical care facilities. Introduced in 1991 and still in use in those environments today. The extraction process was created to diminish pressure points along the surface of the body and promote a position of function for the spine. It was initially used for burn victims, extreme cases of Diabetes, and other critical patients who were susceptible to bedsores. As patients left those facilities and wanted product for home use, the demand started to grow. While initially designed for those with medical needs, the design that matches the body's shape began to give all consumers a new level of comfort and quality of sleep.
The technology was introduced to general public in 1995. However, in effort to give consumers better pricing and service, the factory direct SleepWarehouse was created. While not able to legally make medical claims, we will say that we've had great feedback from people who suffer from: Osteoporosis, Diabetes, back pain, circulation issues, neck pain, arms or falling asleep while sleeping on side, discomfort associated with pregnancy, and many others.
Why was it designed this way, and how does it work?
It is different from any other sleep surface on the market in that its been engineered to fit the natural shape of the human body. The manufacturing process removes material from the mattress pad so the heavier parts of your body sink in further: shoulders, hips, and heels can penetrate the surface further, thereby relieving/reducing pressure points. Material is left in the areas where your body needs more support: neck, lumbar/lower back, and legs, which results in true anatomical support.
Occasionally, other manufacturers will attempt to produce patterns in the mattress pads and claim to give anatomic support. However, no other sleeping surface can accomplish this extraction Solution without violating the 7 Anatomic technology patents that apply to the Original and Platinum pads.
